Eagle Promise Golf Outing (EPGO)
EPGO Overview
The Eagle Promise Golf Outing (EPGO) is an annual event and is the Eagle Promise Charitable Fund’s annual fund raiser. All net proceeds from the EPGO will be applied to the special project(s) that the EPCF Board of Directors has selected to support each year. Please read EPCF Status Report 2009 under the heading OUR ACTIVITIES for an EPCF UPDATE. It will explain in detail both the background behind the decisions for the EPCF moving forward in a new direction, the future projects the EPCF/EPGO will support going forwardand how past funds raised from the Eagle Promise Golf Outing (EPGO) have been allocated.
The specific project we (the committee) had been supporting for the past four plus years was a Capital Campaign for the construction of a state-of-the-art track and soccer complex for the Hedgesville School System. All who have been involved with the T&S project from the beginning agree that this was a most important and worthy project for the community.
Going forward the EPCF/EPGO will support annually, with net funds generated at the end of each fiscal year, the following areas: (1). 30% of the funds will be allocated and added to the existing principle of the EPCF Endowed Scholarship Fund; and (2). 70% of funds will be allocated to support special projects in the community and supporting coaching camp days for youth in Berkeley County.
The Fifth Annual Eagle Promise Golf Outing will be held at The Woods Resort on August 10, 2009 – Mountain View Golf Course. The starting time will be at 11:40 AM. Registration will begin at 10:00 AM with lunch being served at 10:45 AM. The putting contest, as last year, will be held during the golf outing when going from holes #18 to hole #1. The golf outing will include, as in the past, our Hole-In-One Bonanza, Closest-To-The-Pin Contest, Putting Contest, Longest Drive (Men / Women) as well as prizes for both Gross and Net winners of the golf tournament. The golf outing will be a scramble format as it has been in the past. At the conclusion of the golf outing our awards dinner and the distribution of prizes will be at the Hedges Chapel.
We would like to pay special tribute to our Corporate Partners. The Corporate Partners include our Presenting, Platinum, and Gold sponsors. As a group they have ensured, through their financial support and leadership, the success of all of our Eagle Promise Golf Outing’s. Special thanks this past year to Gold Sponsors – BB&T, Big Bucks Bingo of Berkeley County, Chick-fil-A, Christopher Consultants, ltd., and Quad Graphics. The Corporate Partners, along with our many other sponsors, have made each of our Annual Eagle Promise Golf Outing’s to date a successful event for our community. We look forward to adding more Corporate Sponsors in 2009 to make our Fifth Annual Eagle Promise Golf Outing another event.
We hope you will look closely at the complete sponsorship list from our 4th Annual Eagle Promise Golf Outing (EPGO) held in 2008. You can find this under the heading Donor Recognition – Eagle Promise golf Outing. We encourage you to support all of our past sponsors as they have supported us.
